Complete with a 20,000 square-foot maze and 150-foot long giant slide, A maze’n Farmyard is a unique family amusement park in Eden Valley, Minnesota. Dedicated to maintaining an active presence within the community, A maze’n Farmyard supports such local organizations as the Eden Valley Lions Club.

As part of its efforts to promote service projects around the world, Lions Clubs International maintains numerous programs and events, including the Lions International Peace Poster Contest. This contest has been held for more than three decades, and it encourages children in youth groups and schools to show what their idea of peace is. Students between the ages of 11 and 13 are encouraged to participate in the contest, and individual Lions clubs can become involved in the project by ordering a Peace Poster Contest Kit from the organization’s international headquarters.

Each poster that is submitted is judged based on its expression of theme, artistic merit, and originality. There are several judging levels that posters must move through, starting with local levels. From there, posters move on to district, multiple district, and international judges. International judges then pick a single grand prize winner, along with 23 merit award winners.

The grand prize winner of the Peace Poster Contest receives $5,000, and they are given a trip to a special award ceremony. Meanwhile, merit award winners each receive a certificate of achievement and $500.
